You shouldn't avoid feeding your eclectus nuts because they're considered nothing more than fatty treats. Nuts do contribute to good parrot health if given in moderation.
Nuts are a source of selenium, zinc, vit E, magnesium, protien, copper, potassium, phytochemicals, phosphorous, riboflavin, biotin, niacin, zinc.
Feeding nuts to eclectus parrots daily is recommended.
Nut for good nutrition can include almonds, brazil nuts, macadamias, cashews, hazelnuts, peacans, pinenuts, walnuts, pistachios, peanuts (very sparing on the peanuts). I do not usually offer peanuts to my birds at all. They're considered the least nutritional nut & also grow under ground, so can harbour moulds or fungus.
